Description:
Apple-Frangipane Puff Tarts, topped with almond paste and sliced apples - these delights melt in your mouth.
Ingredients:
- 4 5"x5" squares of best quality puff pastry
- 12 tablespoons almond paste (divided into 4 disks 3 tablespoons each)
- 2 good quality baking apples (select ones that are firm and sweet like Gravensteins)
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoons water
Preparation:
Brush each puff pastry square with egg wash. Top with almond paste disk. Top with sliced apple. Sprinkle sugar equally among the four tarts. Set on parchment or silpat-lined baking sheet. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until apples are tender and pastry is golden.
